Approved NBCC National Certified Counselor News Release:
SARAH L. EVANS EARNS NATIONAL CERTIFIED COUNSELOR CREDENTIAL
Ms. Sarah L. Evans of Spring, Texas has attained certification as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through
the National Board of Certified Counselors, Inc. (NBCC). Currently in private practice with SOS Life Ring, PLLC,
Ms. Evans joins more than 40,000 NCC’s who are certified through NBCC.
Ms. Evans earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Sam Houston State University (SHSU) in which she
received the graduating honor of Summa Cum Laude and Outstanding Elementary Education Student Award
from SHSU. Ms. Evans also holds two Master of Education degrees: one from Louisiana State University,
majoring in reading and the other from Sam Houston State University, majoring in counseling. Sam Houston State University is a CACREP Accredited University in which Ms. Evans obtained a dual major in school counseling as well as licensed professional counseling. From that point, Ms. Evans earned a passing score on the National Counselor Examination for Licensure and Certification (NCE). Ms. Evans later completed her required 3000 hours of supervised counseling. As Ms. Evans persistently worked toward the completion of each requirement, Ms. Evans earned and was awarded the privileges, recognition, and responsibilities of being a Licensed Professional Counselor for the State of Texas.
Ms. Evans has worked with a wide range of age groups as well as a variety of disorders. Counseling skills have been Ms. Evans’ focus and passion for the last seven years. Four of those years she spent counseling the incarcerated population. Ms. Evans’ passion to help others is evident as she continues with life-long learning goals and the obtainment of increased knowledge through credential opportunities. Through her determination and passion, she is now a National Certified Counselor.
NBCC, located in Greensboro, NC, is the largest national counselor credentialing organization in the United States. National Certification promotes professional accountability and ensures that consumers’ rights are protected through the NBCC Code of Ethics. As a newly designated NCC, Ms. Sarah L. Evans has fulfilled the requirements for the NCC credential. Those requirements include a graduate degree in counseling from a regionally accredited institution, supervised post-master’s counseling experience, and a passing score on the National Counselor Examination for Licensure and Certification (NCE).
