Parenting coordination and parenting facilitation are specialized mediation services offered to divorced and divorcing parents who need assistance in child-centered dispute resolution, co-parenting, and custody issues. Both services for these high conflict families can be court-ordered ordered or elected by parents.
When parents have intense and prolonged conflict, not only does it impair their ability to deal with each other, it distorts their ability to deal effectively with their children. This is very costly to the family in terms of money spent in litigation, emotional distress, and ineffective parenting. Parenting coordination and facilitation helps the parents and their child(ren) move forward to healthier and more satisfying decisions.
SOS Life Ring's Education Consulting program is designed to assist, educate, and advocate for students.
As your child's advocate, we provide support for both you and your child by reviewing paper work, monitoring procedures, and attending rightful meetings.
We also provide consulting services to assist individuals with the pursuit of scholarships.
PSYCHOEDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENT TESTING
Parents will often watch their children grapple with academics for years and do not know why, leading to decreased confidence, acting out, and avoidance of schoolwork altogether. For many, however, the academic struggle may be because of a learning disorder like dyslexia, dysgraphia, or dyscalculia. Psychoeducational testing is designed to stop the guessing game and identify the cause of unsatisfactory academic performance in children and teens.
We provide extensive psychoeducational assessments for individuals ages 8+. These comprehensive evaluations often meet the documentation guidelines for most schools and significant universities when you are seeking accommodations or other resources for your student. It consists of an assessment of learning and academic skills. Our battery includes measures of intellectual, educational, emotional and behavioral functioning.
Psychoeducational assessments help to first determine appropriate academic placement for a student such as special needs, emotionally handicapped and gifted & talented. Secondly to identify the cause of learning difficulties in school, or the root of a behavioral problem for a student, to ascertain the best treatment option.
Psychoeducational testing is often necessary to accurately diagnose and define the particular challenges a person is facing. Pediatricians often request tests before prescribing medication for ADHD. Our testing can provide a better understanding of strengths and weaknesses, and accurate diagnosis, helping to inform appropriate educational placements, programming, interventions, and accommodations.
SOS Life Ring Mediation Services provide dispute resolution techniques to parties that are involved in a disagreement or are seeking legal action. We support and participate in mandated mediator training and standards set by the Texas Mediators Credentialing Association (TMCA). As credentialed mediators, our training and facilitative mediation techniques empower the parties in the dispute mediation to maintain power over the outcome for their dispute. As our mediation process progresses, we will focus on the future outcome that both parties can accept. Our mediation services focus on the following areas:
Child Protective Services
Civil Disputes: contract, financial, personal injury, landlord/tenant
Workplace Disputes: employment, EEOC
School Law/ Education
Church and Community
Our standard mediation service is scheduled as a half-day unless identified conditions are included that indicate a full day of services will be needed.
Mediations may be held at our SOS Life Ring office in The Woodlands. However, off-site locations are gladly considered as long as all parties are comfortable with the location of the mediation. Mediations can be scheduled on weekdays and weekends.
Mediation services will be scheduled as soon as SOS Life Ring is contacted directly by one of the parties, one of the attorneys representing either party, or by a submitted Order of Referral.
An Order of Referral to Mediation can be submitted via fax to (281) 466-2443 or email to email@example.com. If an Order of Referral exists, then the mediation fees may vary as some courts set the mediator’s fee in advance.
If you would like your case mediated by SOS Life Ring, please contact us to schedule and secure a mediation date. We look forward to working with you in bringing resolution to the dispute.

“Have you ever seen a turtle trying to cross a busy street with its head bobbing in-and-out of its shell as the cars whiz by? Well, I’m that someone who will stop their car, get out, and help that turtle across the street without injuring itself. If you feel like that turtle and are having a difficult time navigating your way through life, then you have come to the right place.”
I have over a decade of experience and have worked with individuals from all walks of life and cultures who have been in crisis and have had traumatic backgrounds. Do you have relationship or family problems, work or school issues, or aren’t satisfied with how your life is going? Are you an adolescent or adult who has been in trouble with the law? I understand hopelessness and what it’s like to feel defeated. I get it and have been there.
